Troubleshooting issues with Bolt setup

This page lists down all the required steps to do if you are facing any issues with setting up the Bolt device.

The Bolt device has two LEDs i.e. Blue and Green in colour to notify the status of the device.

The Blue LED has three modes -

1. Blinking slowly - In this mode, the Bolt is not connected to any WiFi and is thus broadcasting its own WiFi network. The Bolt can be set up in this mode.

2. Blinking fast - The Bolt is connected to the mobile app and is currently being setup.

3. Glowing constantly - The Bolt is connected to the WiFi network successfully. However, this does not tell if the Bolt is able to connect to the Bolt Cloud. The Bolt cannot be setup in this mode as it is already connected to a WiFi network and will not be broadcasting its own WiFi network.

The Green LED has two modes -

1. Not glowing - The Bolt is not connected to the Bolt Cloud i.e. it does not have an internet connection.

2. Glowing constantly - The Bolt is connected to the Bolt Cloud. The setup is done at this point.

If the Blue LED is glowing, but the Green LED is not glowing, it means that the WiFi network that the Bolt is connected to does not have internet access or is blocking the Bolt device from accessing the internet.

The Bolt device may be blocked from accessing the Internet if the WiFi network is a office/college/university network. You will either need to contact your network administrators to allow the Bolt device to access the Internet or connect the Bolt to an alternative network.
